The Alchemy’s well performed sire Gitano Hernando enjoyed a notable winning double this Saturday when his only two runners carded to race won their respective races.
The Glen Puller trained Steel Rose, making just his third career outing, was too speedy for his rivals when breaking his maiden over 1000m at Kenilworth on Saturday.
Steel Rose, bred by Maine Chance Farms, had previously finished second to the highly rated Kasimir last time out and on his last two efforts must be capable of building on his maiden win.
Second winner from as many runners for Gitano Hernando on Saturday came when daughter September Bloom won her second race in a row when successful over 1800m at Turffontein. Trained by Lucky Houdalakis, the consistent filly, now a three time winner, has won or finished in the money in each of her last seven outings.
Gitano Hernando, a dual G1 winner who earned over $2 million in prize money, has already made a splash with his first crop including Oaks winning filly Whose That Girl and Grand Heritage entrant Brave Nomad.
