Outstandingly consistent and tough sprinter Trip Tease picked up the 15th win of his career when victorious in a pinnacle stakes over 1000m at Turffontein on Thursday.
Trip Tease, who was bred by the Zandvliet Stud, was certainly one of racing’s great bargain buys –the gelding costing just R70 000 at the 2012 Emperors Palace National 2YO Sale.
One of Gauteng’s top sprinters, the multiple stakes winning Trip Tease’s previous victories included both the G3 Man O’War Sprint and G3 Lebelo Sprint, with the Mario Ferrerira owned bay’s wins coming over trips ranging from 600 to 1100m.
Trip Tease is the only winner produced by the winning Complete Warrior mare Girlish, who herself won up to 1200m.
The five-year-old, who is very hard to beat over five furlongs, was continuing the great run of success that Trippi and his progeny have been enjoying this week.
Not only was Trippi responsible for a R900 000 yearling at the recent Klawervlei Farm Sale, his son Trip To Heaven finished first past the post in last Saturday’s G1 Rising Sun Gold Challenge, while Trippi also had a quick double at Greyville on Wednesday (with both Roy’s Saint and Rain In Africa obliging).
The son of End Sweep is once again well represented in this weekend’s up-coming feature races – Trippi has no three contenders for Friday night’s G2 Post Merchants at Greyville (Trip To Heaven, Ferrie and Old Em) and they could well provide their red-hot sire with more notable success!
