Almosthaditall tops Mares, Weanlings & Fillies For Stud Select Sale

The beautifully bred Almosthaditall proved the star turn at Friday night’s Mares, Weanlings & Fillies For Stud Select Sale, which was held at Highlands Farms Stud part of Ridgemont Group.

Catalogued as lot 15, Almosthaditall was knocked down to Lynton Ryan, on behalf of Rathmor Stud for R2.4 million.

The daughter of dual Guineas winner Henrythenavigator, herself a winner in Ireland, is a half-sister to six winners including G2 Saratoga Special Stakes winner and successful US sire Jump Start and to the dam of undefeated G1 Los Alamitos Stakes winner Mastery, who was recently retired to the famed Claiborne Farm.

This is also the family of breed shaping sires Miswaki and Southern Halo, and French Oaks winner Lacovia. The sales topper herself is descended directly from stakes winner Lea Lane –a full-sister to US champion Leallah.

Almosthaditall, sold by Klawervlei Stud as Agent, was sold in foal to Dynasty.

Second top lot was 66, Magnolia Lane –a full-sister to four time G1 Ascot Gold Cup winner Yeats and dam of a G3 winner in Ireland, who was knocked down, in foal to Silvano, to Rainbow Beach Trading for R900 000. Magnolia Lane’s son Torcedor holds an entry in Thursday’s G1 Ascot Gold Cup.
