Another winner for King’s Apostle
Klawervlei’s well performed young sire King’s Apostle had his second winner from his first crop of 2yos on Monday.
His son, King’s World, scored a thrilling win over 1200m, having been second on his two previous outings.
Bred by the Normandy Stud, King’s World is out of the three time winning Hard Up mare World’s Best, and is a half-brother to Gr3 winning sprinter Byblos.
His King’s Apostle (whose previous winner is the feature race contender National King) was a very high-class sprinter in Europe. His seven wins included the Group One Prix Maurice de Gheest, where King’s Apostle defeated a field which included the top-class Group winners Naaqoos, African Rose and Varenar.
A son of 2000 Guineas winner and champion sire King’s Best, King’s Apostle is out of a daughter of world leading sire Barathea. His second and third dams, remarkably, were both champions at two!
The stallion is bred on the potent Kingmambo/Sadler’s Wells cross, responsible for such outstanding performers as Workforce (Epsom Derby), Divine Proportions (Champion), and El Condor Pasa (Horse Of The Year).
