Aussie stakes winner for Amour

Vanree Stud’s beautifully bred sire Seul Amour received a significant boost when he had an eye catching stakes winner in Australia on Saturday.
His son Black Tomahawk picked up the Harry White Classic at Caulfield under a strong ride from Glen Boss.
The latter said after his half neck win in the 2400m Listed contest, “”Sometimes you just have to own these races and that’s what we did.
“To his credit, my horse stuck on really bravely.”
Black Tomahawak, one of just 19 registered foals in Seul Amour’s third crop, has now won or placed in 12 of 19 outings for trainer Mike Moroney. The versatile gelding has won from 1600m to 2400m, and Saturday’s success was a well deserved victory for Black Tomahawk, who had finished in the top three in his past five outings.

Seul Amour, a stakes winning son of the late, great Zabeel and champion racemare Grand Archway, has also enjoyed plenty of success in South Africa of late.

From small first crops, Seul Amour has been represented by a number of smart looking winners, including G2 SABC Gold Vase hero Heart Of A Lion (a R760 000 earner), and the useful Sun On Africa.
Remarkably, all four of Seul Amour’s 2012 foal crop have either won or finished in the money!
