Betting World 1900 double for dominant Dynasty

Highlands Farm’s outstanding sire Dynasty achieved yet another feature race double when his son Solid Speed landed Friday night’s G2 Betting World 1900 at Greyville.
In landing this traditional July prep, the Willem Engelbrecht bred Solid Speed provided Dynasty with a notable double in the 1900 –Dynasty’s son Dynastic Power having won the same race (beating subsequent July winner Power King) in 2015.

Solid Speed

Solid Speed, who beat Dynasty son Dynamic into third place (another son of the sire, It Is Written, finished fifth) in Friday night’s 1900m contest, has now won eight times for owner, Khaya Stables, and probably punched his Vodacom Durban July ticket with his latest graded win.
Now a dual graded winner (Solid Speed had previously scored in the G3 Lonsdale Stirrup Cup), the five-year-old gelding has now earned connections R828 550.

Bred on the same Dynasty/Jallad cross as 2016 G1 Investec Cape Derby winner It’s My Turn, Solid Speed (whose trainer Dean Kannemeyer also handled his sire) was a R600 000 purchase from the 2012 Cape Premier Yearling Sale (Book 1).

Former Horse Of The Year Dynasty, whose recent G2 Daisy Fillies Guineas winning daughter Bela-Bela is a leading contender for Saturday’s G1 Woolavington 2000, had another memorable weekend. Not only did his sons Solid Speed and Dynamic run 1-3 in a major graded race, but Dynasty had no fewer than four winners on the card.

This tally included his former classic winning daughter Alexis landing a conditions plate over 1400m on Friday night, and sons Alghadeer and Royal Life winning at Turffontein and Scottsville respectively.

Currently fourth on the General Sires List, Dynasty’s offspring has earned over R10.7million this season.
The champion has 2 lots on offer at the 2016 Klawervlei Farm Sale, due to take place on June 12th:
