Riverton Stud were delighted to welcome this handsome colt, from the first crop of Tapit son Coup De Grace, recently.
The colt is a half-brother to none other than former Equus Champion and triple G1 winner Captain Of All. The latter, like his half-brother bred by the Riverton Stud, was a superb athlete who was rated as one of the world’s top sprinters of 2015. According to the Longines International Ratings, Captain Of All was rated (he had a rating of 121) equal or superior to such outstanding world class sprinters as Brazen Beau, Runhappy, Mecca’s Angel, Private Zone and Sole Power!
The bay, who won or placed in 11 of his 12 outings and earned in excess of R2.2 million, won four graded races during his career –highlighted by his impressive win, under top-weight of 60kgs, in the 2015 G1 Golden Horse Sprint (where Captain Of All accounted for such G1 winners as Gulf Storm, Normanz and Willow Magic). Captain Of All also trounced an outstanding field when victorious in the G1 Mercury Sprint by four and a half lengths. He thrashed the likes of multiple champion and five time G1 winner Carry On Alice (also by Captain Al), with Horse Of The Year Legislate also among the beaten runners.
Another notable victories achieved by the Dennis Drier trained bay included the G1 Gold Medallion at two, and the G2 Diadem Stakes, with Captain Of All also just touched off into second place in the G1 Cape Flying Championship.
Captain Of All, himself represented by some stunning foals at Riverton this year, currently stands alongside Coup De Grace at Klawervlei Stud.
His widely praised first yearlings come on sale in 2018, and it is to be hoped that Captain Of All can follow in the footsteps of his now deceased champion sire, Captain Al.
