Co-op strongly represented on Premier Sale

There are two grooms co-op horses on the 2013 Cape Premier Yearling Sale – and both look like excellent prospects for the future.

Lot 58 is a nicely bred daughter of Count Dubois, sire of such top-class fillies as Zaitoon, Asylum Seeker and Ethics.
The filly, pictured, is a half-sister to a winner, and her dam is a half-sister to the nine times stakes winner Trade Enquiry. The latter is also an outstanding broodmare – and has produced four black type performers including the G1 winners Buy And Sell and Count The Money. The filly has been named Ipsissima.

The second co-op horse is lot 233 – a son of the very exciting young sire Rebel King. The latter, a former champion sprinter, has already had a winner from his first crop, and looks like a sire with a very bright future. Lot 233, as yet unnamed, is out of a half-sister to G1 winner Major Bluff, and hails from the family of champion Bluffing.

The Riverside Co-Op purchased the dam of lot 233, My Lady Bluff, at a TBA Mixed Sale, held in Kleinplasie. The men deliberated long and hard before fixing on this nicely bred mare – who is currently in foal to the brilliant Gimmethegreenlight, and has a lovely Seventh Rock foal at foot.

Both yearlings have been immaculately prepared – and look attractive prospects. Hopefully they can fetch good money at the Premier Sale!
