Cracking first foals for Querari

Querari, Oasis Dream’s only G1 winning son in South Africa, has made a promising start to his stud career. The Maine Chances Farm resident sire is throwing some truly magnificent first foals, and, if they are anything to go by, Querari looks a welcome addition to the South African stallion ranks!
A top-class racehorse, Querari, who won on going ranging from good to soft, was the top rated older horse in Germany in 2010. He won or placed in group races, and scored his biggest win in the 2010 G1 Premio Presidente della Republica.
He defeated numerous top-class performers, including G1 winners Voila Ici, Pressing, Campanologist, Jakkalberry and Horse of the Year Night Magic.
Querari’s sire, Oasis Dream, is one of the best stallions in Europe, and currently stands for a fee of GBP 80,000 (or over R1 120 000!).

A former champion sprinter, Oasis Dream is enjoying a red hot patch in Europe at the moment. His recent stakes winners include the classic colts Peace at Least (German 2000 Guineas) and Gale Force Ten (2nd Irish 2000 Guineas). To date the son of Green Desert has sired 62 stakes winners, including nine G1 winners. His top runners include Irish 2000 Guineas winner Power, and champion filly Midday. His son Captain Gerrard is currently one of Britain’s leading first crop sires.

Querari’s female line is equally illustrious. Like Kentucky Derby and Dubai World Cup winner Animal Kingdom, Querari is out of a mare by triple Horse of the Year Acatenango.

His dam, Quetana, is a stakes placed daughter of German 1000 Guineas winner Quebrada. Quebrada is a daughter of former champion 2yo Devil’s Bag (a full brother to Glorious Song, dam of Jet Master’s sire Rakeen).
Third dam is the outstanding filly Queen to Conquer, whose 8 wins include the Gr1 Yellow Ribbon Stakes.

This is the family of the influential sire War Relic, one of Man O’War’s very best sire sons, and founder of a powerful male line through his sons Intent and Relic.

An attractive individual, who was warmly praised at the recent Highlands Stallion Parade, Querari has everything it takes to make a successful sire. His first foals certainly look like playing their part!
