Crimson Palace to Team Valor, will visit Animal Kingdom
Top South African racemare Crimson Palace was purchased by Team Valor’s Barry Irwin at Keeneland’s November Breeding Stock Sale on Thursday for $75 000.
Consigned by Blandford Stud (Agent), Crimson Palace sold in foal to former champion US sire Elusive Quality, whose son Quality Road currently ranks as one of the world’s most exciting young stallions.
Crimson Palace, whose foals include the six time winner Iscar (by Bernardini), was a superb racemare, whose victories included the G1 Beverly D Stakes (in North America) and G1 Paddock Stakes (in South Africa).
Out of the high-class Northern Guest daughter Perfect Guest, Crimson Palace won races in four different countries, with her other wins including the G2 Middleton Stakes in Britain. In total, the mare (who was bred by Altus Joubert) won seven of her 11 outings for stake money in excess of $600 000.
A daughter of Elliodor, Crimson Palace will visit Team Valor’s Kentucky Derby/Dubai World Cup hero Animal Kingdom (by Leroidesanimaux) in 2015.
