Derby boost for local sires

Derby boost for local sires
The unbeaten Ruler of the World’s victory in Saturday’s G1 Investec Derby provided a major boost two Western Cape based stallions.

Ruler of the World, a son of 2001 Derby winner Galileo, is a half-brother to multiple G1 winner and sire Duke of Marmalade.

His dam Love Me True is very closely related to Moutonshoek’s exciting young sire Mambo in Seattle.

Both Love Me True and Mambo In Seattle are by Kingmambo. While Love me True is a granddaughter of the wonderful Buckpasser mare Lassie Dear, Mambo In Seattle calls Lassie Dear his third dam.

Lassie Dear, in turn, is not only dam of former champion SA sire Al Mufti (himself sire of outstanding local stallion Captain Al and broodmare sire of promising young sire Jay Peg), but she is also the dam of the outstanding US broodmare Weekend Surprise.

The latter is not only dam of WIlgerbosdrift’s top-class sire Tiger Ridge (sire of two Gr1 winners this season), but also multiple champion sire A P Indy (sire of SA sires A P Arrow, A P Answer and promising first crop sire Judpot, and also grandsire of Jay Peg).

Thus Tiger Ridge and Mambo In Seattle  have strong ties to the 2013 Investec Derby hero.

Clearly classic excellence runs strong in this family!
