Devastating debut winner for Britain

Highlands Farm’s blue blooded resident sire Great Britain had a smashing juvenile winner at the Vaal on Tuesday.
His speedy daughter, Wrecking Ball, proved too quick for older rivals when she romped home on debut over 1000m.
Bred by the Worldwise Breeding Syndicate, Wrecking Ball was far too good and won by 1.75 lengths and she looks more than useful.

She is the latest juvenile winner for Great Britain, whose earlier 2yo winners this season include British Royale and Devil In Command.

A former Al Quoz Sprint (now G1) winner Great Britain is a full brother to pensioned Darley sire Cape Cross, whose son Awtaad (winner of the recent G1 Irish 2000 Guineas) is a leading fancy for next week’s G1 St James’s Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot.
Cape Cross’ great son, Sea The Stars, has also been in the headlines of late –as the sire of 2016 G1 Investec Derby winner Harzand.

Another sire from this sensational family who has featured prominently in Europe this season is Iffraaj-whose dam, Pastorale, is a Nureyev half sister to Great Britain.
Iffraaj, whose daughter Nathra ran a cracking second in the 2016 G1 French 1000 Guineas, is the sire of hot young French sire Wootton Bassett, whose son Almanzor won the 2016 Prix Du Jockey Club (French Derby) last Sunday.

The magnificently bred Great Britain has four lots on offer at the upcoming Sibaya KZN Yearling Sale-
