Klawervlei’s proven sire Count Dubois was responsible for mid-week double, with his daughters Anime and French Legend scoring impressive victories at Kenilworth and Turffontein respectively.
Ridgemount Stud bred Anime made it win number two from just six outings when coming with a strong land run to score over 1000m on Tuesday.
The progressive three-year-old, who has looked more than a shade unlucky in her earlier runs, is trained by Dennis Drier for owners James Drew and Mike Fullard –who also raced Anime’s G2 KZN Fillies Guineas winning dam Rei Rei.
Count Dubois also has a nice sort on his hands in the form of the Sean Tarry trained French Legend, who romped to a 3.4 length win at just her second racetrack appearance.
Bred by Klawervlei Stud, and out of the King’s Best mare Millvale, French Legend was a R600 000 buy from the 2015 Cape Premier Yearling Sale.
A well established sire, and former Equus Outstanding Stallion, Count Dubois is also responsible for champions Asylum Seeker and French Navy, as well as G1 winners Zaitoon and Zeeno.
A G1 winning son of Zafonic, Count Dubois is also responsible for recent G3 Cape Classic third Edict Of Nantes.
