Dynasty daughters continue to impress

Highlands Farm’s resident sire Dynasty is famous as a sire of outstanding colts. Among his top performers are Futura, Irish Flame and Legislate –all three males who were subsequently named Horse Of The Year.

However, it is through his daughters that Dynasty has been making waves of late. The sire of the great Equus Champion filly Beach Beauty has several really classy looking sophomore daughters to his credit this season and he looks set to make plenty of noise through these blue blooded fillies.

First of the Dynasty fillies to make an impression was the Wilgerbosdrift bred and owned Noor. Trained by Mike de Kock, Noor made it two wins from as many outings with a convincing two length win in a 1600m handicap at Turffontein recently.

Out of the G3 winning Jet Master mare Express Queen, Noor has been given an entry for the Gr3 Fillies Mile on Sansui Summer Cup day at the end of the month. She is one of two Dynasty daughters entered for the R275 000 contest, with her stable mate Sharp Princess being the other.

Another Dynasty sophomore filly to impress was the Cheveley Stud bred Bela-Bela, who impressed all who witnessed it with a stylish victory at Kenilworth on Wednesday. Now unbeaten in two outings, the elegant grey filly cost owners Varsfontein Stud a hefty R1.4 million at the 2014 Emperors Palace National 2YO Sale –but her price tag is beginning to look cheap given her bloodlines and own ability. Bela-Bela looks likely to line up in the Fillies Guineas next month.

Yet another Dynasty three-year-old filly to impress this season is the Markus and Ingrid Jooste owned A Time To Dream. Like Bela-Bela, she is trained by former champion trainer Justin Snaith, and this Normandy Stud bred sophomore is another who looks loaded with ability. First or second in each of her four races, A Time To Dream has won her last three races on the bounce and looks yet another potential Gr1 World Sports Betting Cape Fillies Guineas contender for her magnificent sire.

Yet another classy Dynasty filly this season is the Highlands Farm bred Swift Sarah –a feature race contender who has won two of just four outings for trainer Sean Tarry and owner Chris Van Niekerk.
