Eight length juvenile winner for Philanthropist

Drakenstein Stud’s exciting young sire Philanthropist received yet another boost to his burgeoning reputation when he was represented by a brilliant, eight length juvenile winner at Turffontein on Thursday.
Bred by Klawervlei Stud, Philanthropist’s daughter Outlander simply outclassed her four rivals to win as she liked by eight lengths.
Trained by Corne Spies, the filly (who is inbred to the great mare Flower Bowl) was a R250 000 buy from this year’s Emperors Palace Select Yearling Sale.

She is one of a number of well related two-year-old representing Philanthropist this year, and the latter looks on course for another big year with his juveniles.

Philanthropist, whose first local crop has already produced a pair of graded winners, will be represented by his G2 Investec Dingaans winning son Singapore Sling in Saturday’s G1 Grand Parade Cape Guineas.
