Favour Stud’s fantastic foals
The Stilbaai based Favour Stud have a really eye catching crop of foals this year.
The stud has already foaled down 42 youngsters, and, judging, by these pictures, Favour Stud, breeders of talented 3yo Varlo, have plenty to look forward to over the next few months.
Pictured here is a daughter of red hot sire Sail From Seattle, sire of recent Gr2 Emerald Cup winner Tommy Gun. This well bred colt is out of the well performed mare Ngakuta, winner of the Listed Hibiscus Stakes and out of a full sister to champion sprinter Taban.
An attractive daughter of Seul Amour, this well grown filly is out of another top class mare in Crescent Lily. The latter, a half sister to well performed galloper Fortunates, scored a good win in the Listed Breeders Guineas, and this is also the family of Vodacom Durban July winning champion Heavy Metal
This eye catching filly is from the first crop of dual Equus Champion Sprinter, What A Winter, who earned over R3.3 million on the track. She is out of Estimada, a half sister to Grade 1
winner Epoque, as well as champions Ecurie and legendary, Horse Of The Year Empress Club. This beautifully bred filly is from the famous “E” family responsible for numerous champions both locally and internationally.
Former East Cape Champion 2yo Filly Haizi is the dam of this fine looking Horse Chestnut filly. A stakes winning daughter of the great Kahal, Haizi is a descendant of one of the finest mares in the South African stud book – Soho Secret. This is the family of champions Kings Gambit, London News and Promisefrommyheart, the latter also dam of Varsfontein Stud’s exciting young stallion Master Of My Fate.
The former South African Triple Crown winner and promising sire Horse Chestnut is also responsible for another Favour Stud owned filly. This youngster was produced by Olimpic Halo and is intensely inbred to former Champion Sire Fort Wood. This is the family of numerous outstanding performers in South America.
Champion Sprinter Rebel King is the sire of this handsome colt. The colt, out of a mare by sensational broodmare sire Sportsworld, is a descendant of Ofa – dam of South African legend Politician. This is the same family as G1 winners Al Nitak, Shoe Express and The Sheik, as well as English classic winner Ragusa.
Another promising young South African champion Elusive Fort has a daughter out of Fit And Firing on the ground at Favour Stud. A useful three time winner herself, Fit And Firing numbers Grade 1 sprinter Big Sky Country as an immediate relative.
With these just a few of the foals on the ground at Favour Stud, that farm would appear to have a lot to look forward to!
