First Feature for Antonius

First Feature for Antonius
Highlands Farm’s exciting young sire, Antonius Pius, was represented by his first local feature race winner on Sunday.
His talented daughter, My Sanctuary, got the better of a smart group of 2yo fillies to land the R200 000, Gr2 The Debutante. The Duncan Howells trained filly, who was bred by Highlands, has now won three of her four starts and looks a top-class future prospect.

Antonius Pius has made an exceptional start to his stud career, and is currently South Africa’s leading first crop sire.

His six winners have earned overR600 000, and also include the smart, Gr3 placed colt Ace Antonius.

Antonius Pius also, understandably, proved very popular at the 2013 Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale.
He sold three yearlings for R500 000, R325 000 and R225 000 respectively.

Hopefully, Antonius Pius can follow in Highlands’ last outstanding Danzig son, National Assembly, and create a national legacy!
