First foal for Louis The King

Triple Crown winner Louis The King is officially a sire. The son of Black Minnaloushe was represented by his first ever foal when Fort Wood mare Hope Downs foaled a filly foal by the multiple G1 winner.

Hope Downs is herself a winning daughter of the stakes placed mare Hancock News, herself a half-sister to G2 Fillies Championship winner Park Lane.

Not only did he win all three legs of the Triple Crown,  comprising the G1 SA Derby, G1 SA Classic and G2 Gauteng Guineas, but Louis The King also won the G1 Sansui Summer Cup, when defying 59kgs to land the 2014 renewal.

The Storm Cat grandson, who is from the same female line as outstanding sires Cape Cross, Nearctic, Great Nephew, and Preamble II, is bidding to become the next locally bred sire sensation following the likes of Captain Al, Dynasty, Jet Master and What A Winter.

Louis The King, who is very fertile and blessed with a superb temperament, will once again stand for a fee of R10 000 in 2017.
