Former Equus champion sprinter Rebel King was represented by his first winner on Wednesday.
Two-year-old, Letas Bonnet, won a 1000m dash at Kenilworth, to get Rebel King off the mark in fine style.

To date, Rebel King, whose first crop are now 2, has had three runners, for a winner and one placed horse.

Named Champion Sprinter in 2009, Rebel King is a fine advert for the South African thoroughbred, as both he and his sire, National Emblem, were local breds. He is one of ten G1 winners produced by National Emblem, and is out of the Badger Land mare Cousin Linda.

Raced from 2-5 years, Rebel King’s eight career wins included the G1 Cape Flying Championship, and G2 Diadem Stakes.

He stands at Klawervlei Stud for a fee of R10,000.
