Trained by Weiho Marwing, the consistent Rock Of Laudium has now won or been placed in her last four outings.

Bred by Hemel ‘n Aarde Stud, Rock Of Rochelle’s first winner was a R70 000 buy from the 2014 CTS Cape Ready To Run Sale.

She is one of six first crop runners for her sire to have finished in the money thus far.

Rock Of Rochelle was a high class sprinter who won the G3 Renaissance Stakes over 1200m and the Listed Blenheim Stakes over the same trip.

A son of former Horse Of The Year Rock Of Gibraltar (also sire of Klawervlei’s successful young sire Seventh Rock), Rock Of Rochelle hails from an exceptional female line.

His dam Recoleta, by former G1 Breeders Cup Classic winner Wild Again, is also the dam of the talented 2yo Silent Times (by Danehill Dancer), winner of the G2 Champagne Stakes. The well bred Recoleta is an own sister to G1 Suburban Handicap winner Offlee Wild, a successful sire whose offspring include the Breeders Cup winners Bayern and She Be Wild.

This is the outstanding Golden Trail female line responsible for the leading sires Brian’s Time and Dynaformer, as well as Kentucky Derby winner Monarchos.

Rock Of Rochelle has five lots on offer at the upcoming CTS August 2YO Sale, including a colt out of a half sister to former G3 Winter Guineas winner State Crown (Lot 93) and a filly out of a stakes winning National Assembly mare (Lot 94).

The stallion’s seven lots at the National 2YO Sale in Germiston include a half sister to the stakes winning sprinter Dressed In Cotton (Lot 28), and a filly out of the useful racemare Supa Dodge (Lot 247).
