Drakenstein Stud’s resident sire Trippi, currently South Africa’s leading sire by stakes, has a really smart looking prospect on his hands in the form of In Other Words.
The latter, who was bred by champion breeders Klawervlei Stud, made it five wins from just seven outings when easily accounting for a conditions plate over 1600m at Greyville on Wednesday.
In Other Words, who races for Sean Tarry and Chris Van Niekerk, has been out of the money just once in seven starts and looks yet another well above average sort to represent her sire.
Trippi, whose 3yo son Illuminator won the inaugural CTS Million Dollar, has enjoyed yet another cracking season with his runners winning such notable features as the G1 Klawervlei Majorca Stakes, G2 Victory Moon Stakes, G2 Jo’burg Spring Challenge, G2 Khaya Stables Diadem Stakes, G2 Premier Trophy, G2 Cape Merchants, and G3 Diana Stakes.
Trippi has just one lot on offer at Sunday’s Val De Vie Yearling Sale- Lot 8 – from one of the best families in the South African stud book, this colt is out of a three time winning half sister to multiple G1 winner and Dubai star Grand Emporium. His second dam is champion Whistling Dixie and this is also the family of former champion 2yo Ice Cube –a three parts brother to the dam of this colt.
The sire, whose stock have won over $50 000 000 in stakes (and counting), also has a single lot on offer at next month’s March Yearling Sale.
This filly, catalogued as lot 64, is out of a three parts sister to former Horse Of The Year Yard-Arm, and she is also from the family of G3 winner Donya –dam of current 3yo sensation Abashiri.
