Fourth winner for Lateral
Maine Chance Farms’ promising young stallion Lateral was represented by the fourth winner from his first local crop of 2yos, when  his the beautifully named daughter, Bilateral, scorched home to win by five and a half lengths at Turffontein on Saturday.

A former outstanding juvenile and champion miler, Lateral’s previous winners were Lemon Tea, Illuminati and stakes contender, Hollywood Sunset.

He is currently South Africa’s leading first crop sire by winners and, at the time of writing, Lateral has been represented by 9 first crop juveniles who have either won or finished in the money.

A champion at two and three, Lateral is a son of champion racehorse and leading sire Singspiel (a half-brother to Jet Master’s sire Rakeen).

He has four lots on sale at this week’s Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale-  including lot 151, a well bred half-brother to former Gr1 Champions Cup hero James Jaguar.
