Nadeson Park’s blue blooded young sire Time Thief received yet another boost to his handsome pedigree when Almighty Girl won the G3 Typhoon Tracy Stakes at Moonee Valley last Friday.
The lightly raced three-year-old, by Beneteau (a son of Time Thief’s sire Redoute’s Choice) took her tally to two wins from just three outings when coming with a late burst to win the 1200m contest by a neck.
In the process, Almighty Girl provided her trainer Mitchell Beer with his first stakes winner. Beer commented after the win, “I was cursing when she drew 15,” confessed Beer.
“She’s as good a horse as I’ve had anything to do with and class prevailed.
“There’s a stack of improvement in her as she’s still very raw. I’m just so proud of her.”
Almighty Girl is one of six winners produced by Sybarite –a Last Tycoon half sister to Time Thief, champion sprinter Laisserfaire and top filly A Time For Julia.
This is the same family as champion sire and broodmare sire Centaine.
Time Thief and Beneteau’s sire Redoute’s Choice is one of the greatest stallions bred in Australia. A triple champion sire, Redoute’s Choice has 127 stakes winners to his credit, with his 27 individual G1 winners including champions Lankan Rupee, Miss FInland Musir and Wylie Hall, as well as the likes of Absolutely, Nadeem, Royal Descent and Samantha Miss.
Redoute’s Choice’s numerous successful sire sons include former G1 Oakleigh Plate hero Snitzel (sire of 7 G1 winners), Stratum, and the ill-fated Beneteau, who is currently the second leading second season sire in Australia.
