Mauritzfontein’s successful resident sire Ideal World enjoyed another productive Saturday this weekend, when his daughters Patchit Up Baby and Arte combined to give their sire a weekend double.

Gutsy five-year-old mare Patchit Up Baby pushed her earnings to over R600 000 with an off the pace win Saturday’s Allez France Stakes at Turffontein to provide Ideal World with yet another feature win.
Patchitup Baby, one of a treble of winners for jockey Gavin Lerena on Saturday, made it win number two from her last three outings when scoring a one and a half length at the expense of the progressive Silver Stripe, with front runner, and former Listed Oaks Trial winner, Inaninstant, further back in third.

Third in the 2015 G1 Wilgerbosdrift SA Oaks, Patchit Up Baby was making amends for her runner up finish in the 2016 Allez France Stakes. The Ormond Ferraris trained mare has now won or placed in nine features, with her previous best efforts including a runner up finish in the 2016 G3 Jacaranda Handicap.

Patchit Up Baby was one of two winners on Saturday for Ideal World, whose Oldlands Stud bred daughter Arte broke her maiden when scoring  over 2200m on the same card.
