I’ll Have Another leads the way in Japan

Former US champion I’ll Have Another (a son of Wilgerbosdrift’s young sire Flower Alley) has made a superb start to his stud career.
The handsome chestnut is currently the Leading First Crop Sire in Japan for 2016 –and is currently above the likes of Deep Brilliante, Rulership and another US champion, Summer Bird, to name a few.

An outstanding racehorse, I’ll Have Another was North America’s Champion 3YO Colt of 2012.  He won five of his seven outings, and over $2.6 million in prize money.

Trained by Doug O’Neill (who also send out this year’s Kentucky Derby winner Nyquist) I’ll Have Another  won all of the G1 Kentucky Derby, G1 Preakness Stakes, and G1 Santa Anita Derby at three, and was on the verge of landing the historic US Triple Crown, before injury saw his late withdrawal from the G1 Belmont Stakes.

Following his injury, I’ll Have Another (who covered over 150 mares in his first season at stud) was sold to Japan for an alleged $10 000 000 and he currently stands at the Big Red Farm in Hokkiado.

His sire Flower Alley will be represented by his first South African born foals this year having covered an outstanding first book of mares last season.
