Maine Chance Farms’ well established sire Black Minnaloushe had an eye catching 2yo winner at Durbanville on Tuesday.
Anneline, who won the day’s only race (racing was subsequently abandoned due to rain), came with a late rattle to make a winning debut over 1000m.
Bred by John and Liz Slade, Anneline clearly relished the underfoot conditions of Tuesday’s race, and ran on too strongly for her more experienced rivals to score by 1.75 lengths.
Out of the Silvano mare Vera, Tuesday’s first timer was a R21 000 buy from the 2014 Cape Mare and Mixed Sale.
Anneline is one of three 2yo winners for Black Minnaloushe this season –with the sire’s former 2yos including the champions Holliner, Jokers Wild and Kochka.
