Impressive debut winner for Chestnut
Former Horse of the Year Horse Chestnut has made a bright start to his South Africa stud career.
The South African legend was represented by his fourth individual winner, when Gold Prospector made an eye catching winning debut at the Vaal on Thursday.

Bred by Messrs Jolliffe and Kidd, Gold Prospector, who is out of Velvet’s Image, is a half-brother to the classy filly, Reflective Image.

Horse Chestnut’s previous winners include Zobens, who is favourite to win his second race on Friday.

Arguably the greatest racehorse ever bred in South Africa, Horse Chestnut (Fort Wood – London Wall) stands at Drakenstein Stud.

His fee for last season was R15 000.
