Impressive debut winner for Elusive Fort

Klipdrif’s promising resident sire Elusive Fort continues to impress, with his runners proving competitively at all levels around the country.
Latest of the Elusive Fort winners to impress was the Sean Tarry trained Safe Harbour, who made a smart winning debut at the Vaal on Thursday afternoon.
The 2yo daughter of Elusive Fort, a R100 000 buy from last year’s March Yearling Sale, was backed into favouritism for a maiden juvenile plate over 1200m and the Jim Antrobus bred Safe Harbour duly obliged –despite finding interference in the running.

Safe Harbour, who scored first up by nearly 1.5 lengths, continued the good season that Elusive Fort sired 2yos have enjoyed.
To date the former Equus Champion and G1 SA Derby winner has been represented by six juvenile runners –of which five have either won or finished in the money.

Safe Harbour looks to be yet another nice prospect for her sire, with Elusive Fort’s first and second crops having yield the G1 winners Siren’s Call and Lauderdale respectively.
