Impressive debut winner for Silvano
Maine Chance Farms’ resident sire Silvano had an impressive debut winner at Scottsville on Wednesday.
His 2yo son Dante’s Legacy made a winning debut for trainer Gavin Van Zyl, when scoring by a length and a half first time out.

A R800 000 buy at the 2013 Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale, Dante’s Legacy is out of a winning Model Man half-sister to Grade 1 winning sprinter, O Caesour.

Champion sire in South Africa last season, Silvano is once again enjoying a fine season in 2013-2014.
He is currently fourth on the general sires log, with his runners having earned over R9.7 million this season alone.
Silvano’s nine stakes winners this season include Tellina (Gr3 London News Stakes), Hot Ticket (Gr3 Chairman’s Cup), Whistle Stop (Gr3 Graham Beck Stakes) Power King (Gr3 Winter Guineas), and Seal (Gr3 Caradoc Gold Cup).

Silvano is also the sire of Vercingetorix – winner of the Gr1 Jebel Hatta and placed in both the Gr1 QE II Cup and Gr1 Dubai Duty Free this year.
