Varsfontein Stud’s successful resident sire Judpot, sire of G1 Wilgerbosdrift SA Fillies Classic hope Bi Pot, looks to have a really classy 2yo on his hands in the form of the Klawervlei Stud bred Aurora Australis.
The latter, a half-brother to ill-fated CTS Million Dollar winner Illuminator, made an impressive winning debut when breaking his maiden over 1400m at Turffontein on Thursday.

A former Equus Outstanding Stallion, Judpot is a proven high class sire, with his best runners including exported Equus Champion Along Came Polly, the G1 winners Forest Indigo and Juxtapose, millionaire Deputy Jud and Golden Slipper winning filly Final Judgement.
An A P Indy half-brother to French classic winners Kingmambo and East Of The Moon, Miesque’s son Judpot has four lots on offer at this weekend’s March Yearling Sale – a colt out of a four time winning daughter of Captain Al (Lot 60), a filly from the same family as top class fillies Helenita, Trojan Belle and Cape Guineas winner Little Ballerina (Lot 83), a colt out of a three time winning Kahal granddaughter of Flying Filly, Lupine Lady (Lot 98), and a filly out of a winning daughter of champion and outstanding international sire Shamardal (Lot 104).
