Klawervlei is very proud this year to welcome Proudly South African band Watershed to play at the Festival and guests can look forward to a fun-filled musical experience which is scheduled to take place from 7pm on the Saturday evening.
Watershed is a world class outfit and their concert promises a hugely enjoyable evening to all attending.
Klawervlei will host the 2015 Farm Sale the next day, when a strong catalogue of 129 lots are scheduled to go under the hammer.
This increasingly important auction, described as a fun, informal sale with huge value, has a reputation of uncovering future stars at tremendous value, and a number of top class athletes have been sold off this sale in past years.
Among the past graduates of the Klawervlei Farm Sale in recent times are the record breaking G1 winner Captain Of All, Guineas winner Door Of Deception, and other such notable winners as In Limine, and this season’s classy two-year-olds Galaxy King, Rebel’s Idol and Waity Katie.
The brilliant Captain Of All has been a tremendous advert for the farm sale, with the record breaking son of Captain Al having won or placed in five graded races and has earnings of over R1 million prospect.
His victories include an exciting score in the G1 Tsogo Sun Medallion, over fellow G1 winner Willow Magic, as well as a gutsy victory in this season’s G2 Khaya Stables Diadem Stakes, where Captain Of All accounted for the G1 winning sprinters Copper Parade and Fly By Night.
This year’s catalogue will offer yearlings by such leading stallions as Black Minnaloushe, Captain Al, Count Dubois, Dynasty, Jay Peg, Philanthropist, Seventh Rock, Silvano, and Trippi.
Leading first crop sire Warm White Night, whose first crop have made such a huge impression this season, is another sire represented at the Farm Sale, as is fellow promising young sire Querari.
Champion Irish Two-Year-Old Pathfork, whose first crop yearlings have really shone in the sales ring, is another popular young stallion represented at the Farm Sale.
One colt with plenty of appeal is lot 37 – he is a son of multiple champion sire Captain Al and Rock Of Gibraltar’s classic winning daughter Gibraltar Blue.
Count Dubois’ daughter of Exceed And Excel mare Her Excellency is another well-bred sort – this filly, catalogued as lot 42, hails from the same family as champions Busted and Spook Express as well as the late, great South African sire Elliodor.
Outstanding sire Dynasty is the sire of lot 59, a bay filly out of the stakes placed mare Magic Girl, a full sister to the dam of recent G3 SW Security Solutions SA East Cape Derby hero St Tropez.
Former champion sire Silvano, sire of St Tropez, has a lovely colt to his credit in the form of lot 70, a son of the stakes placed Jet Master mare Nimley.
The sale will also allow buyers to acquire yearlings by the late, great National Emblem – sire of 10 Grade One winners, as well as recent Listed Perfect Promise Sprint winner My Emblem.
Promising young Encosta De Lago horse Dan De Lago will also be represented by some first crop yearlings, as is fellow Klawervlei sire Curved Ball – the only son of champion sire Fastnet Rock currently at stud in South Africa.
