The 2012-2013 racing season sees the first yearlings by King’s Apostle, Oracy and Seventh Rock go under the hammer. All three stallions have offspring on sale at the 2013 Cape Premier Yearling Sale – and much is expected of these well bred youngsters.

King’s Apostle was a word-class sprinter, like leading sires Pivotal and Oasis Dream, who landed both the G1 Prix de Maurice de Gheest and G2 Diadem Stakes during his racing career.
This well bred young sire is a son of champion French sire King’s Best, and is out of a mare by the top-class miler and sire, Barathea.
Barathea has also become a prolific broodmare sire, and was responsible in this role for 2012 G1 winners Monterosso (Dubai World Cup) and Shareta (Yorkshire Oaks).
From a top-class family of numerous Gr1 winners, King’s Apostle is bred on the powerful Kingmambo/Sadler’s Wells nick – which is responsible for one of the world’s best young sires, Henrythenavigator.

Lot 94 – is a half-brother to the top-class, G3 winner Byblos (by Noble Thatch). This is the family of champion sprinter Golden Loom – winner of 22 races!

Lot 123 – is a half-brother to current top-performer Black Toga, who was third in the recent G1 Cape Premier Yearling Sales Guineas. The dam is a G1 placed daughter of world leading sire, and broodmare sire, Royal Academy.

Lot 228 – is a colt out of the top-class stakes winner, Miss Galilei. By the great sire Galileo, Miss Galilei’s four wins included a score in the Spook Express Handicap. This colt is inbred to the mighty stallion Sadler’s Wells.

Oracy, an imposing and attractive individual himself, showed huge ability in a brief racing career, which saw him win his first five starts. His career victories included scores in the G2 Dingaans, G2 Gauteng Guineas and G3 London News Stakes.
Like promising young sire Greys Inn, Oracy is a son of the champion sire Zabeel, sire of over 140 stakes winners. This tally includes a staggering 42 individual G1 winners!

Oracy, who had tremendous pace and speed, is also from a hot family which includes successful sire Oratorio (by Stravinsky), and the multiple Gr1 winning filly, Sea Siren.

Lot 3 – a colt whose dam is a winning half-sister to three stakes winners. This is the family of the ten time graded stakes winner, The Waltz.

Lot 19 – is a half-brother to 7 winners, including multiple stakes winner, Therealslimshady. From a top-class family whose members include SA Oaks winner Seven Stars.

Lot 108 – is a half-sister to the six times stakes winner, Apple-a-Day. This is the red hot family of July winner Pomodoro, and his dam – Equus Broodmare of the Year, Golden Apple.

Seventh Rock was an exceptional racehorse, who is the only horse ever to defeat champion Argonaut! He achieved this when he won the G1 Gold Medallion as a 2yo. At three, Seventh Rock won the G3 Tommy Hotspur Handicap, and ran third to world-class champion J J The Jet Plane in the G1 Computaform Sprint.

A magnificent looking horse, who has proved really popular since retiring to stud, Seventh Rock is by the outstanding racehorse, and sire, Rock of Gibraltar. His dam, Ruby Clipper, was one of the fastest fillies ever to race in South Africa – and her dam won the G1 Australian Oaks.

Lot 74 – is a colt, whose dam is a half-sister to three stakes winners, including G3 winner Lady of Cadiz. His second dam is the G3 winner, Fair Spanish Lady.

Lot 77 – is a half-sister to the top-class, stakes winning Agra. This filly is inbred to the great sire Danzig, and is from the family of the top-class performers Fanciful and Cover Look.

Lot 84 – is a colt whose dam is the G1 placed mare, Valeta. Valeta is a half-sister to 2012 July third placed finisher Chesalon – and this colt’s second dam is the G1 winner, Sarabande.

Lot 102 – is a half-sister to 5 winners, including a stakes placed performer. This filly is out of a stakes placed winner of five, by the great sire and broodmare sire, Al Mufti.

Lot 114 – is a colt, whose dam is a three parts sister to the very fast stakes winner, Ngakuta. The family of champion sprinters Taban and En Avant.

Lot 129 – is a half-sister to three winners – two of whom are black type performers. This filly is from the famous Miss Lindeman family, which has produced such G1 winners as Tara’s Touch, Priceless Asset and Little Miss Magic.

Lot 138 – is a colt out of the stakes winner, Child Model. Child Model is a half-sister to 2 stakes winners, including Bound By Honour – a multiple winner in Germany. The famous Drohsky family!

Lot 152– is a filly whose dam is a full-sister to champion Tara’s Touch, as well as G3 winner Dance of Diamonds. This is the famous Miss Lindeman family.

Lot 156 – is a colt with a tremendous international pedigree. His dam is by the great Al Mufti, and this is the family of champions Daylami and Dalakhani – the latter a hugely successful sire overseas.

Lot 204 – is a filly with a superb pedigree. Out of the top-class broodmare Laptop Lady, this filly is a half-sister to international champion, and promising young Klawervlei sire, Jay Peg. The latter retired to stud as South Africa’s all time leading money earner. The filly is also a half-sister to the black type performers Cyber Case and Cabernet Kid.
