Varsfontein Stud’s well performed young stallion Master Of My Fate has made an eye catching start to his stud career.
The handsome horse has really made a favourable impression with his first foals arriving to rave reviews from all breeders lucky enough to have them.
Varsfontein’s own Master Of My Fate foals include some smashers, including this lovely colt out of Lady Asrai.
A three time winning daughter of Flaming Rock, Lady Asrai is a proven producer with her seven winners including the stakes winning filly Admiral’s Daughter and the stakes placed Gibson Girl. Lady Asrai is out of former Broodmare Of The Year Meretricious –dam of the international G1 winners Irridescence (G1 QE II Cup) and Perfect Promise (G1 CF Orr Stakes).
Pawlova has given birthday to a really appealing daughter of Master Of My Fate. This filly, whose dam is by former German champion Acatenango (also broodmare sire of Kentucky Derby winner Animal Kingdom and leading young sire Querari), is from one of the best families in the stud book. Not only does Pawlova hail from the same family as former Varsfontein successful sire Caesour, but this is also the family of champions Arazi and Noverre, as well as champion sprinter Ajdal and G1 Santa Anita Derby winner Jim French, himself a successful broodmare sire.
Princess Tobin is a top class broodmare, and the daughter of champion sire Badger Land produced this attractive Master Of My Fate filly. This filly is thus a half sister to the high class fillies Badger’s Cove (G2 Sceptre Stakes) and Princess Alberta (East Cape Nursery), as well as three other winners.
Master Of My Fate, who has proven both popular and fertile in his first seasons at stud, was a top class racehorse with a pedigree and physique to match.
The big son of seven times champion sire Jet Master was a R3 million buy from the 2011 Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale, where he was the sales’ top priced colt. Sent into training with Dennis Drier, Master Of My Fate reeled off six wins on the bounce with his victories including the Gr2 Premier Trophy and Gr2 Peninsula Handicap. In both the Premier Trophy and Peninsula Handicap, Master Of My Fate’s beaten rivals included subsequent Gr1 J&B Met winner Hill Fifty Four.
Other top class performers vanquished by Master Of My Fate include champions Capetown Noir and Hot Ticket, July runner ups Punta Arenas and Run For It, Gr1 SA Derby hero Seal, R2 million earner No Worries, and Gr1 winners King Of Pain and Do You Remember.
From a superb female line, Master Of My Fate is out of former Equus Champion Promisefrommyheart, whose six wins included the Gr1 Triple Tiara 1600, Gr1 SA Fillies Guineas and Gr2 (now Gr1) Woolavington Stakes. Sadly now deceased, Promisefrommyheart is also the dam of Listed Spook Express Handicap winner Justthewayyouare and eye catching debut winner Captain Nemo.
This is the outstanding Soho Secret family, also responsible for champion Kings Gambit and brilliant G2 Breeders Cup winner Pluck.
