Moutonshoek’s well performed young sire Mambo In Seattle had a smart mid-week double at Greyville on Wednesday.
The son of Kingmambo was represented by just three runners on the card, with both Night Circus and Bling Swing coming home to land their respective races.
Bred by Sandown Stud, Night Circus (who was making just his third racetrack appearance)produced a fine turn of foot to mow down his rivals and break his maiden in stylish fashion over 2000m.
Out of a mare by Caesour (and thus inbred to the great sire Nureyev), Night Circus is trained by Dean Kannemeyer.
Mambo’s second Wednesday winner came in the form of Moutonshoek bred Bling Swing, who broke his maiden in smart fashion over 1400m for trainer Paul Lafferty.
Mambo In Seattle is a three parts brother to five time G1 winner and prominent US sire Lemon Drop Kid.
The sire of 87 stakes winners to date, Lemon Drop Kid’s runners have earned more than $7 000 000 in North America this year, with his current runners including G1 Secretariat Stakes winner and G1 Hollywood Derby runner up Beach Patrol.
