More success for Oracy
Klawervlei’s well performed young Oracy, whose first crop are now two, had an impressive debut winner at Turffontein on Sunday.
His son Demosthenes, despite looking very green, ran out a convincing winner over 1000m for trainer Joey Ramsden and owners Markus and Ingrid Jooste.
A R250 000 purchase at the 2013 R2 million Ready to Run Sale, Demosthenes (who looks sure to make up into a lovely 3yo) was produced by the Fantastic Light mare, Tristram’s Fantasy.
Oracy has already been represented by three horses who have either won or finished in the money.
A top-class racehorse, Oracy (who won his first five outings) won seven races and over R1.4 million in prize money. He won from 1450-1800m, with his victories including the Gr2 Dingaans, Gr2 Gauteng Guineas, and Gr3 London News Stakes.
Oracy is a son of champion sire Zabeel – also sire of red hot local stallion Greys Inn, who was represented by a pair of feature race winners at Clairwood Park on Saturday.
Oracy has seven lots on offer at Saturday’s Klawervlei Farm Sale, including a filly who traces in female line back to legendary mare Natalma, and a colt out of a half-sister to ill-fated Cape Guineas winner Domino Man.
The stallion is also represented on the 2014 Suncoast KZN Yearling Sale – where his sole lot on offer is a colt out of a three time winning Elusive Quality mare, from the same family as US Gr1 winners Scorpion and Alwajeeha.
