Lammerskraal’s red hot new sire Visionaire was represented by yet another eye catching debut winner when his 2yo son The Thinker won first time out at the Vaal on Thursday.
Bred by Summerhill Stud, the Ingrid and Markus Jooste owned colt produced a fine turn of foot to land a maiden juvenile plate over 1000m in taking fashion and The Thinker looks a colt worth following.
Out of the Northern Guest mare Radiant Lass, The Thinker was a R180 000 buy from last year’s CTS Johannesburg Ready To Run Sale.
He is the sixth juvenile winner for G1 King’s Bishop Stakes winner Visionaire this season, with the son of Grand Slam set to be represented in Sunday’s G1 Thekwini Stakes by his very promising 2yo daughter Visuality.
Visionaire will also be represented by his undefeated son Africa Rising in the same day’s G1 Premiers Champion Stakes, and another 2yo son, Count Von Count, in the G2 Umkhomazi Stakes.
From the same male line as Lammerskraal’s former great sire Western Winter, Visionaire made a superb start with his first South African runners including Fillies Guineas winner Heaps Of Fun, G3 winning 2yo Royal Pleasure, and G3 Flamboyant Stakes runner up Lala.
