Nutfield Stud, breeders of such top class runners as G1 winner Chestnuts N Pearls, G3 Winter Derby hero Elusive Silva and impressive recent winners Magicality and Elusive Path, are proud to offer three top class yearlings at next week’s Cape Premier Yearling Sale, set to take place on January 21st and 22nd.
The stud’s three yearlings all hail from some of the best families in the South Africa stud book –and should not be missed by any serious buyer.
First of the Nutfield draft to go through the ring is lot 51, a daughter of Mambo In Seattle, whose progeny include the outstanding dual G1 winning filly Same Jurisdiction, recent feature race winner Smart Mart and the progressive Investec Cape Derby entrant I Travel Light.
This filly, who has been named Eleganza, is bred on the world famous Kingmambo/Sadler’s Wells cross which has produced such outstanding international champions as Henrythenavigator, El Condor Pasa and Divine Proportions.
She is a half sister to two winners, including impressive recent winner Elusive Path –now a three time winner, who also finished third (to subsequent G1 World Sports Betting Cape Fillies Guineas runner Safe Harbour) in the 2016 Lanzerac Ready To Run Stakes.
This is the famous “E” family responsible for champion and prominent young sire Elusive Fort, and the G1 winning siblings Epoque, Ecurie and Horse Of The Year Empress Club.
Second of the Nutfield trio to come up for sale is lot 88 a colt by the name of Celestial Prince. He is a son of Cartier Champion and proven world class sire Duke Of Marmalade, whose half brother Ruler Of The World won the 2013 G1 Investec Derby. Duke Of Marmalade has over 50 stakes horses to his credit including English champion, and classic winner, Simple Verse.
The blue blooded Celestial Prince (whose first two dams are G1 winners) is a half brother to G1 2yo Double Appeal and he is out of G1 Woolavington Stakes winner Imperious Star. The latter, a daughter of former champion and G1 Met winner Imperious Sue, was sold for R3 200 000 at last year’s Mare & Fillies For Stud Select Sale.
This is the family of champion and G1 sire Victory Moon, G1 winning sprinter Real Princess and recent G1 Grand Parade Cape Guineas winner William Longsword.
Nutfield’s final offering at the 2017 Cape Premier Yearling Sale is a filly by the red hot young sire Philanthropist, a former Leading Sire in North America. From the same family as former leading SA sire National Assembly, Philanthropist’s first South African crop included the graded winners She’s A Giver and Singapore Sling as well as the top class filly Sail.
The filly on offer, who has been named Silver Reserve, is a half sister to four winners including stakes 2yo Cotton Candy. An exceptionally well bred filly, she is out of a stakes placed winner of six, and her dam (by Rakeen) is very closely related to former G1 winner and sire Ravishing (by Rakeen’s sire Jet Master).
Also the family of G1 winners Bold Thatch, Fort Defiance, Vega and Villandry.
