Oldlands Stud’s Ready To Run draft

Oldlands Stud, breeders of such graded winners as Cat And The Moon, Go Indigo, English Garden and Astro News, are proud to offer two high-quality lots at next Friday’s CTS Ready To Run Sale held at Durbanville racecourse.

Lot 45

First of the two juveniles from Oldlands is lot 45, a filly by European champion and proven international sire Oratorio. The latter’s first South African crop has made a pleasing impression and include such promising stakes horses as Ancestry, Mrs O and Sequined.

This filly is a half-sister to 2 winners including G3 Final Fling Stakes winner Cat And The Moon and to R4 000 000 yearling purchase Moonrise Sensation. Her dam is a half-sister to Lucky And Find and Pay The Piper, two multiple stakes winners who between them won 16 races. This is the same family as former Equus Champion 2YO and G1 Premier’s Champion Stakes winner Kochka, and globetrotting Equus Champion, and successful sire, Jay Peg.

Second of the Oldlands draft (offered as agent for Ian Sanne) is a colt by last season’s champion 2yo sire Var, whose offspring include 20 individual G1 performers. This colt, bred on the same Var/Fort Wood cross as G1 winning sprinter Contador, is a half-brother to six winners, including overseas winner, and G1 SA Derby third, Rippling Ring.

Lot 105

His second dam is the very speedy, six time stakes winner Studio Star, whose sire Elliodor is broodmare sire of the Var sired champion Val De Ra (now dam of the exciting filly Miss Frankel).
