Avontuur’s exciting stallion Oratorio has impressed many with the quality of his first South African crop of foals, currently being born, this season.

The latest Oratorio foal to catch the eye, is this quality filly, who was bred by Golden Touch Thoroughbreds.
This attractive bay, pictured at 48 hours old, is out of the high-class Goldkeeper matron Velvet’s Image, and is a half-sister to a number of classy performers.
Amongst this filly’s siblings is the top-class mare Reflective Image (by Tamberlaine), whose five wins include the Gr2 Sceptre Stakes and Listed Olympic Duel Stakes. A mare with a tremendous turn of foot, Reflective Image has already earned over R600 000 in prize money, and rates as an exciting future stud prospect. Velvet’s Image is also the dam of the very promising Horse Chestnut gelding Gold Prospector – who is unbeaten on sand.

Her sire Oratorio has enjoyed another tremendous season in 2014, when his stakes winners included G1 Hong Kong Gold Cup winner Military Attack, Gr3 Phoenix Sprint Stakes heroine Scream Blue Murder and top-class local Grade 3 winner Orator’s Daughter.

Fully booked in his first season at Avontuur, Oratorio will once again cover a high-class book of mares in 2014.

A champion on the track, and at stud, former Eclipse Stakes winner Oratorio currently stands for a stud fee of R100 000.
