European champion and world leading sire Oratorio is set to be represented by his very first South African born yearlings at the Cape Premier Yearling Sale on January 21st and 22nd.
The champion son of Danehill has 31 well bred lots on offer, and connections of Oratorio are understandably very excited about the up-coming sale.
Avontuur’s Pippa Mickleburgh is delighted by the farm’s resident sire’s draft, saying, “We’ve had some exposure to him in this country with Ottimo, Orator’s Daughter and most recently Bella’s Empire strutting their stuff,” says GM Pippa Mickleburgh. “This sale is the culmination of a dream which started with his arrival at Avontuur in October 2013 and is now becoming reality. He was visited by an excellent calibre of mares in his first and second seasons and with the latest achievements by his international campaigners, has proven his longevity, consistency and toughness, which comes through in his progeny. “
Pippa is particularly keen on Oratorio’s daughter of G2 winner Mochachino (lot 29) named Hot Chocolate and a colt by the name of Ancestry out of dual G3 Final Fling Stakes winner A Daughter’s Legacy (lot 134). G1 Golden Horse Sprint winner Contador also has a lovely Oratorio half brother on offer, in the form of lot 212 –a colt by the name of Music Master.
The Oratorio-Mocachino filly (whose relatives also include former G1 Vodacom Durban July hero Hunting Tower) has been described as a strapping and muscular filly, while her paternal half brother out of A Daughter’s Legacy is a sturdy and strong colt.
