Promising Ashaawes enjoys successful spell
Sandown Stud’s well bred stallion, Ashaawes, has been enjoying plenty of success with his first crop of 3yos this season. From just a handful of runners, Ashaawes’ offspring have really started to come to the fore!

On Wednesday, the Ashaawes filly, Priceless Jewel, made it a hatrick of wins, while on Friday, another daughter of the stallion, Scented Ash, captured the feature race of the afternoon – the Breeders Guineas Plate.

Ashaawes is also responsible for the high-class 3yos Way Clear and Sanshaawes. Way Clear himself reeled off three wins in a row, and picked up the Listed Racing Association Stakes in the process.

His paternal half-brother, Sanshaawes, has stamped himself as one of the best 3yos in the Cape with placed efforts in all of the G3 Langerman Hcp, G3 Cape Classic and G1 Investec Cape Derby. Sanshaawes should pick up a feature race before too much longer.

His sire, Ashaawes, stands for a stud fee of R12,000.
