Querari filly one to watch at KZN Sale

Boland Stud are proud to offer (as Agent) a daughter of red hot young sire Querari at the upcoming Sibaya KZN Yearling Sale at the end of this month.

A  Group 1 winner and champion, Querari (who is from the same male line as 2016 Investec Derby winner Harzand) is a son of champion sprinter and outstanding sire Oasis Dream. The latter, a three parts brother to Horse Of The Year Kingman, is sire of more than 100 stakes winners, with his tally of top class performers including the successful sire Showcasing and the very promising young sire and Irish 2000 Guineas winner Power.

Querari has made a spectacular start to his stud career –his small first crop including Oaks winner Solana, G2 The Debutante winner Cosmic Light, and G1 performer Melliflora. The Maine Chance Farms’ resident has made an equally promising start with his second crop –Querai’s current crop of 2yos including such promising stakes performing juveniles as Cuveo, Querari Falcon and Touching.

To date, Querari has been represented by 14 juvenile runners in 2015-2016, of which ten have won or finished in the money. This total also includes impressive debut winner Bonnie Dawn and the promising Cape gelding Caballo Blanco.

Querari is also the sire of lot 35 at the Sibaya KZN Yearling Sale. This well related filly, a half sister to a winner, is out of a daughter of Elliodor –currently South Africa’s second leading broodmare sire for 2015-2016.

A truly exceptional broodmare sire, Elliodor features as the damsire of this season’s Triple Crown winner Abashiri, Equus Champion French Navy, and other G1 winners/champions Aslan, Cordocelli, Dog Wood, Donatella, and Val De Ra.

The filly on offer also hails from one of the best families in the stud book. Her third dam is the 11 time stakes winner and hugely successful broodmare Song Of Peace –the ancestress of champions Grand Emporium, Ice Cube, and Whistling Dixie.

Both Dubai star Grand Emporium and Ndabeni are by a Danzig line horse (National Assembly), while this filly on offer is by another Danzig line sire in Querari.
