Respect for Bold Silvano

Ascot Stud’s homegrown sire Bold Silvano made a big impression at Kenilworth on Sun Met day this past Saturday when his son Bold Respect landed the R1 000 000 Kuda Sprint.

Remarkably, Bold Respect was his sire’s only runner on the day, giving Bold Silvano a 100% feature race winners to runners on the day!

Bold Respect, bred like his sire by Ascot Stud, made it two wins from three outings when getting the better of a titanic duel with Wonderwall.

The two juveniles drew well clear of third place finisher Gold Image, who was three and a half lengths away. In the end, Bold Respect edged clear to post a head victory at the expense of Wonderwall, who was receiving 2kgs from the winner.

One of three major feature race winners for trainer Brett Crawford on the day,  Bold Respect is out of the Kabool mare Respectable Lady –also dam of the useful Bold Silvano winner Boldly Respectable.

The 2017 Kuda Sprint winner is bred on the very successful Silvano/Blushing Groom cross, responsible for such major winners as Heavy Metal (Equus Champion), Martial Eagle (G1 J&B Met), and Tellina (Gauteng Guineas).
