Rock Of Rochelle on fire!

Hemel ‘N Aarde’s promising young stallion Rock Of Rochelle has enjoyed a blistering run of success lately.
The son of Rock Of Gibraltar has been represented by just a handful of runners over the past two days, but has had a hatrick of winners and is clearly red hot at the moment.

Remarkably, Rock Of Rochelle’s first three runners of the new season include two new winners- which certainly bodes well for his season ahead.

His first winner came in the form of the Weiho Marwing trained Rock Of Laudium, who bolted up to win nicely over 1600m at Turffontein last week.

Second of Rock Of Rochelle’s winners came just days later when the Mike Bass trained La Rochelle ran on nicely to win over 1400m at Durbanville on Wednesday, and Rock Of Rochelle’s final leg of his hatrick emerged when the Yvette Bremner trained Rockabella prevailed by a neck over 1200m on Friday.

This is a fine run of success from this exceptionally well bred horse, and Rock Of Rochelle has indeed made a promising and pleasing start to his stud career. To date he has been represented by seven horses to win or place, and this total should continue to rise substantially over the coming months.

A top class sprinter, whose wins included the G3 Renaissance Stakes, Rock Of Rochelle shares his champion sire Rock Of Gibraltar with the exciting young sires Mount Nelson and Seventh Rock.

He is from a superb female line, with Rock Of Rochelle’s relatives including the outstanding sires Brian’s Time and Dynaformer, as well as Offlee Wild, the sire of Breeders Cup winners Bayern and She Be Wild.

Rock Of Rochelle has five lots on offer at tomorrow’s CTS August 2YO Sale. His draft includes a filly (bred on the famed Danehill/Sadler’s Wells cross) from the family of G1 winner Dynamite Lady (Lot 39), a filly from the wonderful Indira family (Lot 89) and a colt whose dam is a half sister to G3 Winter Guineas winner State Crown (lot 93).
