Second winner for Judpot
Varsfontein Stud’s Judpot has made a promising start to his stud career. Judpot, whose first crop are juveniles, has had just four runners to date – but two have won, and the other has placed.
Judpot’s latest winner came in the form of Juddering Angel, who made a winning debut at Kenilworth on Wednesday afternoon.
A son of the champion US sire A P Indy, Judpot is a half-brother to the top-class stallion Kingmambo, whose numerous champions include King’s Best, Henrythenavigator, and Lemon Drop Kid – all of whom have since become successful stallions.
Judpot, also a half-brother to French classic winner East of the Moon, is out of the great champion Miesque. The latter won no fewer than 10 G1 races during a stellar career, which saw Miesque win the Gr1 Breeders Cup Mile.
Inducted into the US Hall of Fame, Miesque produced no fewer than five stakes winners at stud.
The chestnut Judpot stands at Varsfontein for a stud fee of R20,000.
