In form sire Trippi, whose daughter In Other Words was so impressive at Greyville on Tuesday, had another eye catching filly win at Turffontein on Thursday.
The John Vos trained Trip To India, bred and owned by Drakenstein Stud, made a stunning debut when bolting up to win by three lengths over the beautifully bred first timer Glory Sister over 1200m, and she looks to have a bright future.
Trippi, broodmare sire of the recently retired dual US Gr1 winner Liam’s Map, also made headlines at Keeneland’s November Breeding Stock Sale.
His daughter Hot Trip is the dam of Orabella (by More Than Ready), who was the top priced lot sold at the penultimate day of the 12 day marathon sale. A full sister to G1 Spinaway Stakes winner R Heat Lightning, Hot Trip was herself a useful filly, winning twice and finishing third in the Go For Wand Stakes.
Orabella, in foal to G1 winner Violence, was sold to Hidden Brook for $62 000.
Trippi has made a sensational start to the new season, with his winners including the feature race winners Inara (G3 Diana Stakes) and Trip To Heaven (G3 World Sports Betting Jo’Burg Spring Challenge). The son of End Sweep currently ranks fifth on South Africa’s General Sires List and third on the leading sires of 3yos log.
Sire of more than 50 stakes winners (and counting) Trippi has eight lots on offer at next week’s CTS Ready To Run Sale presented by Lanzerac Hotel & Spa. His draft includes a colt out of Met winner Imperious Sue’s G1 winning daughter Imperious Star (Lot30), a filly out of G1 Empress Club Stakes winner Little Miss Magic (Lot 45), and a colt whose G3 winning dam is a half sister to champion and leading US sire Candy Ride (Lot 162).
