Smart win for R3 000 000 yearling
The imposing Master Of My Fate made it back to back wins when running out a facile winner of the seventh race at Clairwood Park on Wednesday afternoon. Competing in a handicap over 1450m, the colt took his record to two wins from just three outings, when putting on a display of pure power.
Given a confident ride by in-form rider Sean Cormack, the 11-10 shot Master Of My Fate put paid to his rivals with an impressive victory.
Owned by Mr N Papageorgiou, Master Of My Fate was the second top priced yearling at the 2011 Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale. The Varsfontein Stud bred colt was knocked down for R3 000 000 at the sale, and was the most expensive colt sold on the 2011 National Sale.
Master Of My Fate has the pedigree to match his physique and talent. He is a son of six times champion sire Jet Master, and is out of former Equus Champion Promisefrommyheart.
Hailing from the potent Soho Secret family, Promisefrommyheart (also bred by Varsfontein) is proving as successful at stud as she was on the track. Her five registered foals to date include a winner in Dubai (Need to Know), a stakes winning filly (Justthewayyouare), and now Master Of My Fate.
