Smashing first foals for July champ
Foals from the first crop of former Vodacom Durban July hero Bold Silvano continue to catch the eye.

Very popular in his first season, Bold Silvano covered a book of around 90 mares, with his mates including daughters of such superstar sires as Danehill, Galileo and Giant’s Causway.
An exceptionally good looking horse, Bold Silvano is the first son of champion sire Silvano to stand at stud in South Africa.

Equus Champion Middle Distance Horse in 2010, Bold Silvano won 6 races in South Africa from 1100-2200m. Apart from the Vodacom Durban July, the bay also won the Gr2 Astrapak 1900, and was second to Horse of the Year, Irish Flame, in the Daily News 2000.

Sent to Dubai, Bold Silvano scored an impressive victory in the 2011 Maktoum Challenge (Round 2), beating such international stars as Al Shemali, Gitano Hernando, and Crowded House.

Like exciting young sire Jay Peg, Bold Silvano is out of a mare by former champion SA sire, Al Mufti.

Bold Silvano stands at the Ascot Stud and has a 2013 fee of R15 000.
