Duke Of Marmalade gelding Big Orange, who ran fifth in the big race last year, has been priced up by Tab.com.au as a $15 shot –along with recent G1 Palmerstown House Estate Irish St Leger winner Wicklow Brave.
A tough and courageous galloper, Big Orange has won seven of his 18 outings, with his tally of victories including back to back wins in both the G2 Princess Of Wales’s Stakes and G2 Goodwood Cup.
Last seen landing the G2 Qatar Goodwood Cup by 1.5 lengths over Pallasator, Big Orange has earned £762 987 in prize money.
He is one of 30 stakes winners for former Cartier Champion Duke Of Marmalde, whose other notable performers include Cartier Champion Simple Verse, and fellow classic winners Star Of Seville, Nutan and Sound Of Freedom.
A half brother to former G1 Investec Derby winner Ruler Of The World, Duke Of Marmalade stands at Drakenstein Stud for a 2016 stud fee of R100 000.
