SON OF SEUL AMOUR SHOWS PROMISE
Vanree’s young stallion, Seul Amour, has sired a very promising sort from his first crop of local runners.
The Zabeel son is responsible for the promising 2yo, Heart Of A Lion. The latter made it back to back wins, when landing a juvenile plate over 1400 metres. Bred by Sorrento Stud’s Terry Andrews, Heart of a Lion had previously broke his maiden by an impressive eight lengths.
He looks one to follow through his career, and could well make up into a feature race contender next season.
Seul Amour, a stakes winner of six races, is the product of two champions. His sire, Zabeel, is one of the greatest stallions ever to stand in the Southern Hemisphere.
Not only has Zabeel (who has amassed no fewer than 23 sires titles), sired over 40 Gr1 winners, but he has also become a legendary broodmare sire. To date, daughters of Zabeel have bred over 100 stakes winners – including 22 G1 winners.
Seul Amour’s dam Grand Archway was Australia’s champion 3yo filly of 1999. The daughter of top sprinter Archway (a half-brother to English Derby winner Dr Devious) won 9 races, from 1150-2500m, including the G1 C F Orr Stakes (over top colts), and G1 Australasian Oaks.
